Friday’s Food & Art Returns May 1 in Downtown Mt. Vernon

There’s nothing quite like a Friday evening in downtown Mt. Vernon—and it all kicks off again on Friday, May 1 with the return of Friday’s Food & Art.

Held at The Commons from 5:00–8:00 p.m., this monthly favorite brings together everything we love about our community—local food, handmade goods, live music, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Kicking off the season, enjoy live music from Katie Hatch on The Commons stage from 5:30–7:30 p.m., creating the perfect soundtrack for your evening.

This month also features a special artist demonstration by Carl Bundy, Mt. Vernon Festivals Board Member and founder of the Mt. Vernon Brewers Festival. Carl will be brewing a beer live at The Commons—one that will be served at the Brewers Festival in June—giving attendees a unique behind-the-scenes experience.

Come hungry! Food vendors include Papa Knock’s Smoke Shop and Simply Scooped, offering delicious bites and sweet treats. (Along with downtown restaurants and yummy Carnival food a block away!)

Make a full night of it in Mt. Vernon:

🚗 Check out the Kingsman Car Club Cruise-In at the Mt. Vernon Elks, just a block away
🎡 Enjoy the excitement of the Mt. Vernon BIG Spring Carnival, adding even more family-friendly fun
🛍️ Bonus: Several downtown shops will be open late—list coming soon!

Stroll through vendors, enjoy live entertainment, and experience the energy of a community coming together. Friday’s Food & Art takes place on the first Friday of each month through November*, making it the perfect tradition to kick off your weekend all season long.

👉🏻 See you May 1 at The Commons!

*Second Friday in September, and a special Saturday edition on June 27 instead of July 4.
