Overview
BIENNIAL THEME: New for this biennial, we intend to commemorate and document the past year and a half. Works of art made between January 1, 2020 and May 1, 2021 are eligible. ELIGIBILITY: The Cedarhurst Biennial is open to all artists, working in fine art or craft, over the age of eighteen, living in Illinois south of Interstate 80, and the metropolitan areas of St. Louis, MO; Evansville, IN; and Paducah, KY. SUBMISSIONS: New this year: videos will be accepted, but will be exhibited only online. For the jury process, we accept high-quality, digital images of works of art or craft in painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), drawing, sculpture, printmaking, digital or film photography, pastel, textiles, ceramics, glass, metal, and wood. No installations. All works of art must be original and completed within the last year and a half. Works previously exhibited in any Cedarhurst exhibit are not eligible. Previous award winners are not eligible for awards. Upon being accepted, two-dimensional works must be framed and ready to hang; NO GLASS - Plexiglass only. Size may not exceed five feet in any direction. Three dimensional works may not exceed five feet in any direction and must not weigh more than 200 pounds. Margaret holds a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Washington University in St. Louis, with a specialization in twentieth-century European and American art. $3,250 IN AWARDS: Best of Show: $1500 First, Second and Third Place: $1000, $500, $250. TIMELINE: • Entries postmarked by May 1, 2021 • Selected artists notified by June 4, 2021 • Shipped art due at Cedarhurst no later than July 24, 2021 • Hand-delivered art accepted between July 17-24 10am-4:30pm (museum closed on Monday 7/19) • Opening Preview and Awards Presentation August 7, 2021 | 6:30 to 8:30 pm • Exhibition closes October 10, 2021 • Art must be picked up October 13-17, 2021 FULL DETAILS AND ENTRY FORM: https://www.cedarhurst.org/call-for-entries

$35 non-refundable entry fee. Three digital images per $35 entry fee; one entry fee per artist.
