BACKPACK BLOCK PARTY
Saturday, Aug 13 from 11am-1pm | Veterans Park MTV
The annual party is back and this year it's bigger and better than ever! The whole community is invited as we celebrate the new school year with new backpacks and FREE hotdogs, snow cones, and popcorn.
Over the last 7 years, Mrs. Linola Spann has blessed children in our community with the gift of a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies. Central Christian Church is partnering with Mrs. Spann again this year for her 7th Annual Backpack Block Party. This year, Mrs. Spann is expanding with the hopes of allowing more children in our community the chance of receiving a back pack. The Backpack Block Party will be a part of Market Days and the Hands Up Summit at Veterans Memorial Park in Mt. Vernon. The event will include popcorn, snow cones, DJ, Inflatables, and other fun activities.
We're reaching out to other organizations in hopes to giveaway 1,000 backpacks again this year. You can bless children and families in our community as they start the school year with a new backpack and school supplies. If you'd like to participate, it's super simple. Visit our website at centralnow.com/backpacks for a link to our Amazon registry or drop off backpacks at Central Christian Church with or without supplies. School supplies include, but are not limited to, crayons, colored pencils, #2 pencils, pink erasers, yellow highlighters, wide ruled spiral notebooks, wide ruled loose leaf notebook paper and glue sticks.
If you would like to contribute financially, please make checks payable to Mrs. Spann or Central Christian Church with "Backpack Block Party" In the memo line. Checks can be mailed to Central Christian Church at 301 N. 10th St. If you're able to cone alongside this terrific event, we'll list your organization on promotional materials before and on the day of the event. Feel free to follow the Backpack Block Party Facebook page. Thank you for loving families in Jesus' name in our community! or information call Mrs. Spann at (618) 315-4237 or Shayln Koch at (618) 214-0412 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
