Kevin Tolka Produce

Grown by local Mennonites, Kevin Tolka’s Produce can be found at several events and markets in Southern Illinois. On the first Saturday of the month May through September, their produce is available at the Mt. Vernon Market Days at Veteran’s Park. You can also find them setting up around Belleville, Irvington, and Salem. Purchase zucchini, squash, tomatoes, green beans, and hanging flower baskets!

This locally grown fruit orchard has two locations, Mt. Vernon and Centralia, IL. Treat yourself to strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, and apples. You can’t leave without trying a warm apple cider donut! Enjoy other baked goodies like peach cobbler, strawberry shortcake, apple butter, and jams. Their famous apple cider is sold at select Dierbergs, Whole Foods, and Schnucks stores.

Just a 15 minute drive from Mt. Vernon, Martin’s Nest in Texico, IL is a family owned U-Pick blueberry farm. Martin’s Nest grows four different varieties of tasty blueberries. Picking usually begins mid to late June. Call to find out picking times before stopping by.
