Family-owned and operated since 2011, Agave serves traditional Mexican dishes in a relaxing environment. On special evenings, enjoy live music on the outdoor patio or a local Mariachi band. Opening in 1995, El Rancherito was the first authentic Mexican restaurant to serve Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They offer delivery to all Mt. Vernon businesses, an outdoor patio, and a private meeting room. El Rancherito serves a delicious variety of food and drinks including cheese dip, burritos, nachos, chicken over rice, tamales, and more!

Recently opened in 2017, Guero’s brings Tex-Mex cuisine to downtown Mt. Vernon. In addition to customary Mexican dishes such as rice and beans, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos, and more, Guero’s also serves classic American dishes. Some of their American fares include bacon cheeseburgers, BLT club sandwiches, and Philly Steak. They also offer desserts such as sopapilla, tres leches, and cheesecake.

La Fiesta is the newest Mexican restaurant to come to Mt. Vernon. Featuring authentic Mexican meals including Mexican sweet corn, shrimp tacos, chimichangas, fajitas and more. The Fiesta Burrito, a signature dish, includes chicken, shrimp, and steaked topped with cheese dip.

Joe’s Pizza serves Italian cuisine to multiple locations in Southern Illinois featuring the Trupiano family’s secret homemade sauce. The Italian fare includes deep dish pizza, spaghetti, tortellini and other pastas, sub sandwiches, bruschetta, salads, cannoli, and more.

Opened in 1972, Pizza Man is Mt. Vernon’s longest running, locally owned pizzeria. Pizza Man is known for their thin crust specialty pizzas and homemade ranch dressing. Some of their featured pizzas include BBQ chicken, Hawaiian, chicken alfredo, bacon cheeseburger, and more.

Serving home cooked meals daily, the Diner and Bakery offers classic diner fare for breakfast and lunch. Menu items include a variety of omelets, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, fried pickles, beef manhattan, horse shoes, patty melts, and more.
